Take time out for the most important people in your life

Family. They’re the most important people in our lives and, for many of us, they’re the reason why we do what we do. At this time of year, during the hustle and bustle of the busy Christmas period, it’s important that we take time out to remember – success isn’t always dictated by numbers and figures. For many of us, it’s about the life we can provide for ourselves and our families.

Down time is just as important as goals, in our overall vision of success

Yes, goals are important to us, but so is our down time. We can spend so much of our year focused on business growth, pushing forward and reaching new levels of success. But we also need to know when to stop. When do you rest? When do you spend quality time with the very people you’re looking to provide a better life for?

Our most precious commodity is time itself and, when it’s gone it’s gone forever. So please, during this Christmas period, spend your time how you truly want to spend it.

On a personal note, I’ll be pleased to see the back of 2017. The last few odd numbered years, have been emotional years for me.  With the loss of my Dad in early 2015, and this year the sudden and unexpected loss of my girl’s dad. Although we’d been divorced for many years, it’s been an incredibly tough time for us as a family and particularly my girls.  I’ve never been superstitious (how can I be? I was born on the 13th of the month!) but, I can’t wait to head into what I hope will be a ‘more balanced’ even number that is 2018!

Take time out for the most important people in your life

So, what are your plans for 2018 and how are you going to be celebrating, in the lead up to the New Year? Are you looking to get some last-minute sales in, to reach those end of year goals? Maybe you’re looking to down tools and have a time out, to refocus and regroup? How about the most important people in your life, your reason for doing what you do – are you doing what you need to, in order to spend some down time with them? If they’re your reason for doing what you do, make sure to take the time out of your business and be with them, to remind yourself and them, of that.

I’ll be stepping out of my business from days end on Friday 22nd December, until Monday 8th January, to take the time to refocus on my priorities, my business and of course, spend proper quality time with my own reason ‘why’ – my girls and our little boy, Coco! (Pop over to my website, if you’ve not already seen photos.) Finally, I’d like to take the opportunity now to say, whatever you have planned, I wish you and your family the very best for the Christmas period and I hope you have a lovely start to your New Year!

I’d love to hear what you’ve got planned – so why not pop a comment in the section below this blog, to share your plans? Whilst you’re there, why not share your ‘why’ too?
